A specialist library is available for you to use

Students, researchers, members of history groups, anybody interested in or passionate about the Celts are all welcome to our library, by appointment only, from Monday to Friday, between 9.30am and 12pm, and between 1.30pm and 5pm.

The Centre de Recherches Archéologiques en Ardenne Asbl / Museum of the Celts has a specialist library focusing on the following themes:

  • 
the world of the Celts in general, with a particular focus on archaeological sources;
  • regional archaeology;
  • heritage of the Province of Luxembourg.

Not all of our books and journals have been added to the system yet (the database is regularly updated however). We are here to help you with any research you may need to do.

Procedure for using the library at the Museum/Research Centre

  1. Browse the Province’s library database using the following search engine.
  2. 
Make an appointment to see the books you are interested in:
    by phone : 061 / 22 49 76,
    by email : info@museedesceltes.be,
    or by asking at the Museum. If the Museum’s opening times don’t suit you, you can also ask to see the books you are interested in at the municipal library.
  3. You can only look at the books on-site – you will not be allowed to borrow them.
  4. 
A photocopier is available to visitors.

    Colour photocopies : €0.30/page.
    Black and white photocopies : €0.05/page.

For your information, the Libramont municipal library also has a collection of books dedicated to the Celts. There you can browse all sorts of books about Celtic folklore, among other subjects.
